Bred by the Eastern States Farmers Exchange, West Springfield, Massachusetts from selections of heat resistant strains of Danvers and improved for better interior color, smoother skin, better uniformity and better yield. Released in 1947.

Two inch diameter roots are often 9 inches long. Very fragrant, sweet and crunchy. Bright orange. Originated among market gardeners near Danvers, Massachusetts in 1871.
Planting: Heirloom Danvers Carrot Seed Organic
Early sowings can be made 2-3 weeks before spring’s last frost date. The tiny seeds should be surface-sown and not covered, or covered only minimally, and kept uniformly moist until seedlings are strong. May be sown throughout spring and summer at 2-3 week intervals, until about a month before first frost in autumn.
